This is your final project for this term. It is a chance for you to think back to the time we spent in school and everything we did this year. You can share this project about your time in Year 4 in any way you wish, it may be a PowerPoint, a poster, a video or audio piece or something else - it's up to you!
Your sixth home learning project for the summer term is based on British Sign Language (BSL). There are 11 million people in the UK who are deaf or hard of hearing and use BSL to communicate.
Your challenge is to learn some British Sign Language and make a poster, powerpoint or video to help people and/or encourage people to learn British Sign Language. Some British Sign Language materials to get you started:
Your fourth home learning project for the summer term is based on our Summer science
topic “Sustainability”. For this project, we will be focusing on energy, specifically
sustainable and non-sustainable energy (also known as renewable and non-renewable).
Your challenge is to make an information brochure/poster/powerpoint/video comparing
the different types of energy there are (both sustainable and not).
Your third home learning project for the summer term is based on our previous Geography topic “Our local area”. Obviously our immediate local area is Buckhurst Hill/London/Essex but we are now thinking on a bigger scale “local” area.
Your challenge is to make an information brochure/poster/powerpoint/video about the UK (use the questions below to help guide you) and to create a map of the UK.
There are many, many more resources on Twinkl you could use to help with this project. If you don't have access to Twinkl, here are some websites to start you off, but remember to use Safe Search if doing research on the internet!

Your second home learning project for the summer term is based around our new history topic of the Anglo-Saxons.
Your challenge is to make an information brochure/poster/powerpoint/video (or whatever creative endeavour you can come up with!) about the Anglo-Saxons (use the questions in the document below to help guide you) and to create a picture of an Anglo-Saxon artefact.
The Anglo-Saxons used runes for writing. Use the Anglo-Saxon Runes on this worksheet to translate the the names of the kingdoms and also the extra message from your teachers!
Challenge – Can you write your own secret message using runes and see if a parent/carer, sibling or your teacher can work it out?!
