My Magic Eye

My magic eye sees babies in the womb before they are born,
squashed and submerged in their wondrous water world.

It can catch a glimpse of the first VE Day,
Union Jacks fluttering.

It sees Churchill courageous and charismatic,
so proud of his people.

My magic eye can see trees dancing
and dodging in the wind.

Sees the clouds, soft as cushions,
gliding and morphing in the sky.

It watches worms working under the soil,
toiling to make tunnels.

It stares at birds soaring and slicing through the wind,
Dreaming of flying high in the sky, bouncing round the clouds.

My magic eye can see the future,
me sitting at the back of my house watching my grandchildren play.

Lockdown Life

There are many bad things about Lockdown;
I’m not allowed to see my friends,
I’m missing my school,
I’m hating this Lockdown.
We’re not allowed outside much,
I have no more clubs,
I’m hati
ng this Lockdown.
We have no more holiday
and the worst of all, I can’t hug my grandparents.
I’m hating this Lockdown.
But there are many good things about Lockdown;
I’m spending quality time with my family
and I have more time on my hands.
I’m loving this Lockdown.
I’m protecting myself and staying safe,
I’m taking pleasure in the simple things,
I’m loving this Lockdown.
I’ve been camping (in the garden)
and I’ve had the time to try new things,
and revisit old ones,
I’m loving this Lockdown.
There’s many goods and bads about Lockdown;
but as long as I’m with my family,
and my friends and teachers stay safe,
I’m perfectly fine with it.

My Poem

Mirror standing tall

Beckoning over Harry

Waiting for him to look up

To watch his secrets to come true

With one look up

Harry could see

These two strangers waving at him

He wondered and stared

To whom they could be?

There was a man and a woman

The woman was a pretty lady

With green eyes that shined like stars

She gave a smile to Harry

Standing next to her was a man

With thick black hair and round glasses

Just like Harry!

Tears rolled down his face

He wondered to himself

Could they be my parents?

He took a few steps forward

And he pressed his hands against the mirror

Then it collapsed

And they were gone L L

MY MAGIC EYE

MY MAGIC EYE CAN SEE

OUR BODIES INHALE OXYGEN

IT CAN SEE THE MOON WINK AT THE STARS

MY MAGIC EYE DISCOVERED

A NEW ANIMAL ALL THE WAY ON PLUTO

IT CAN SEE ALL THE WAY TO NEPTUNE

MY MAGIC EYE CAN

SEE VIRUSES

IT CAN PREDICT THE FUTRE

MY MAGIC EYE CAN SEE

FAIRIES

IT WATCHES OVER KINGDOMS

MY MAGIC EYE IS WIDE, WIDE OPEN
