Paragraphs 1 and 2 - examples
Have you ever found yourself standing in front of a house - terrifying and the stuff of nightmares - and told that this was your new home? Well that's what happened to me on the morning of April 1st when I was snatched from my comfortable, normal, suburban house and transported to this monsterish mansion. Would my life ever be the same again?
Let me introduce myself. My name is Alfie. I am an eleven-year-old boy with slightly scruffy, mosey brown hair and annoying, blotchy freckles. My family consists of my mother (cheerful and optimistic), my Granny (old and slightly doddery) and Sarah my pet goldfish (cute and, well, gold). I would describe myself as friendly and adventurous however this was put to the test on that fateful morning.
Driving to our new home, all seemed well. That was until we pulled up outside.
So there I was, minding my own business, having lived happily in the same house for the past 200 years. My time was spent floating up and down the creepy staircase, antagonising the horrific kidnapping giant spider and sleeping in the evil chest of darkness. That was until he arrived. Would my life ever be the same again?
Let me introduce myself. My name is Ghost Boy. I am an eleven-year-old ghost with wide, black-rimmed eyes and a white, transparent body. Growing up, I had a pleasant life with my parents and younger sister until my life was tragically cut short in an unfortunate accident with a tractor. From that moment onwards, I was destined to live out eternity as a ghost of my former self. Mind you, don't feel sad for me. I love my life - peaceful and simple - and have much to feel grateful for.
This all changed the day that the yellow, motorised machine pulled up outside and the weird, noisy family got out.
