CROSS COUNTRY

On Friday 10th November Buckhurst hill competed alongside Hereward, Thomas Willingale, St John Fisher, Theydon Bois, St Johns and High Beech. All children ran exceedingly well. The results overall were as follows:

Year 3/4 Girls runners came 3rd

Year 3/4 Boys runners came 3rd

Year 5/6 Girls runners came 3rd

Year 5/6 Boys runners came 2nd

The next race will be in February and parents are more than welcome to attend.

On Wednesday 18th October the Year 3/4 and 5/6 Cross Country teams ran 2 epic races at Davenant Foundation School in Loughton. The younger category racers ran 1000m, while the older group ran 1500. While we were not the winning school, all runners performed well and showed good team spirit, cheering their friends over the finish line. A selection of runners will be chosen again in the first week back of school to run again at another Cross Country Competition in Debden.

FOOTBALL

On Friday the 13th the Year 6 Football team participated in the West Essex Schools Sports partnership competition. There were 37 teams playing across 2 fantastic competitions and all played in good spirit.

BHCPS football team put in a mammoth effort playing against Epping, White Bridge, Alderton and Upshire. Out of the 4 games the team won 2 and drew 1. Unfortunately, despite playing well we did not make the final this time. The winners of the competition overall were:

3rd – Whitebridge

2nd – Chigwell

1st – Staples Road

Thank you to the parents and helpers who came for the day and we hope to get in the finals next time.

We played a football match against Upshire on 4th October and won 19-0.
