We've had a productive week in Year 6. We have introduced some new sentence types into our writing and are now starting an extended write based on Harry Potter. We have written letters to a fictional family member under the guise of a 14th century Aztec nomad who settled at Tenochtitlan (the capital of the Aztec empire).
P.E. now takes place on Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Please can you ensure that the correct kit is available on those days. As mentioned before, it is really difficult to tell the children that they cannot partake because they have forgotten the correct footwear etc.
Maths: Mr Flynn’s group will be finding the product of proper fractions.
Maths: Mrs Stephens' group will be recapping on all aspects of fractions.
English: We have set a another Bug Club online reading comprehension.
Mr Flynn’s group have been converting between decimals and fraction and are now adding and subtracting mixed numbers.
Mrs Stephens' group will recap on all aspects of fraction – the four operations and word problems.
Our current writing cycle is focused on using a variety of sentence types within the children's shortened version of Harry Potter.
